The damage done to our Spiritual Walls by an out of control
Supreme Court is appalling. Sadly, only the foundations remain.
If the foundations are destroyed, what can the rightous do?
Psalm 11:3
There has been a slow dismantling of our nation's Spiritual
Walls. There is a saying that goes "Obey or Decay." Failure to Obey God's word
and His commandments has resulted in a moral Decay of our nation. Here is what
has happened.
· In 1947 there was a wall of separation enacted between church and state.
· In 1962, prayer was banned from public schools. (It is the first form of worship to Almighty God.
· In 1963, the reading of the Bible was banned from public schools.
· In 1968, the choice of the State's to teach evolution was granted, thereby disavowing God as the Creator.
· In 1973, abortion was legalized hence a law was created contrary to the commandment (Thou shall not kill).
· In 1980, the Ten Commandments were removed from public schools walls.
· In 1985, Voluntary prayer time or meditation time was reduced to a period of silence for it not to exceed one minute. (Let's give God 1 lousy minute, no more, no less).
· In 1987, Creationist viewpoints were censored, while evolutionist viewpoints were openly taught.
· In 1992, prayer (which is the primary form of worship to our God), was barred at public school graduations.
Our spiritual walls have already been desecrated.
Unfortunately, the likes of (Against Christianity Liberals United), have
targeted our Christian Foundations as a "Nation under God", and have began a
slow and insidious process of destroying those as well. The goal of these
people is to totally remove Almighty God's name from our Pledge of Allegiance
(One Nation under God Indivisible), our Currency (In God we Trust), and our
Constitution done in the year of our Lord…), our Declaration of Independence
(That they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. Among
these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…).
The American people enjoy a degree of religious freedom
that no other nation in the world enjoys. At any given time, more than 60
percent of Americans claim to be Christians. There are over 360,000 places of
worship including churches and synagogues... This freedom came to the shores of
this nation by the forefathers who founded it. April 29, 2004 will mark the
(397th) anniversary of when the first settlers came to America and landed at
Cape Henry. They landed on April 26th 1607 but spent 3 days in prayer before
setting foot on the beach at the southern tip of the Chesapeake Bay. They
planted a cross and dedicated the land to Jesus Christ. They found a site and
named it Jamestown after King James, the very King who sponsored the translation
of the Bible from Hebrew to Greek, and then to English. King James made the Word
of God available to the average person, not just the clergy of his day. The next
settlers were actually Pilgrims who were blown off course and arrived in Cope
Cod Bay what is now known as Plymouth in Mass. These settlers came to propagate
the gospel among the Indians and to become stepping stones for the furtherance
of the gospel. They were actually missionaries. Later, the Puritans carried the
Cape Henry legacy further. On the deck of the Arbella halfway between England
and Cape Cod, leader John Winthrop declared, "We shall be as a city upon a hill.
The eyes of all people are upon us. So that if we shall deal falsely with our God
in this work we have undertaken and so cause Him to withdraw His present help from
us, we shall be made a story and a byword throughout the world."
This quote is so poignant and prophetic in that we have allowed our Spiritual walls to be desecrated, and the results have been devastating. Did we lose His protection because we have begun removing Him? The eyes of the whole world are indeed upon us! Did we cause God to withdraw from us and thus become a story and a byword throughout the world? Our forefathers were men of God including George Washington who was raised by a praying Godly mother. His prayer of "holy protection for this nation" begins with ("Almighty God; we make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection…)" as the first President of the United States. Thomas Jefferson was another forefather who stated (Can the Liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed the conviction that these Liberties are the gift of God? I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever)." Abraham Lincoln in his famous Gettysburg Address, delivered at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on November 19, 1863, included this quote: "That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom…" James Madison, as the primary author of the Constitution had this to say in 1795: "The moment that religion, the pure and defiled religion loses its influence over our hearts, from that fatal moment, farewell to public and private happiness. Farewell, along with farewell to virtue, to patriotism, to Liberty." We must decide if that is indeed what is happening to us (United States) as a nation. And who can forget the famous words of Patrick Henry in his Oration given at St. John's church, in Richmond Virginia, March 23, 1775. The excerpt states …Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take but as for me, give me Liberty, or give me death." We have been a shining city on a hill until now and have sent the gospel out over a great part of the world. Our American character, heritage and laws are based upon the Holy Bible (God's living Word). Our freedom came from Almighty God. Having freedom does not give us a license to remove the very name of God Almighty who gave us those freedoms, because with freedom comes responsibility. We need to ensure that the bloodshed of our forefathers and armed forces of today is not in shed in vain. Along with responsibility comes accountability. Are we going to fight wars on other shores to protect our freedoms while we sit hopelessly here at home and allow the likes of (Against Christianity Liberals United) to take our freedoms from us. We have already lost the freedom to worship in prayer in our schools. If we remove His name out of our Pledge, His laws out of our courtrooms, His name from our currency, then how can we have Hope? Hopelessness is profane in that it represents an attitude that is defiled by futility and is polluted with a Godless pessimism. A nation is hopeless only when it becomes Godless. With the inclusion of the word "Hope" over 129 times in the Bible, it seems worth our time to focus upon its deepest meaning--"trust in God's mercy, tempered by fear of divine justice." As we seek justice and fight for preservation of our freedoms, overseas as well as on our home front, I believe "The Hope Pin" and "Liberty USA" T-shirts will come to symbolize and unite us as one "Nation under God", honoring our Christian heritage and demonstrating ultimate "Hope" in Him.
These days are a reminder of a time the Old Testament when God made this promise to His people in II Chronicles Chapter 7, verse 14. "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." It is time for those trying to remove any acknowledgement of Him and His providence to turn from where they are and to receive His forgiveness and healing. We as a nation are at a critical point politically, spiritually and economically. When the prophet Nehemiah was rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, he states in Chapter 4 verse 14. "And I looked, and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, "Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses." Akin to Nehemiah's days, we at IJN Hope are committed to the rebuilding of the spiritual walls of our nation. Let us not let the Foundations that our great nation was built upon be dismantled, as our Spiritual walls have already been desecrated. It is our wish that you join us in the efforts of rebuilding Christianity's spiritual walls by regularly lifting our leaders as well as our troops up in prayer. There is a real war going on within our shores and we must implore with our government officials and leaders to fight to preserve our Christian heritage as "A Nation under God" and give our nation Hope in these perilous of times. Let us remember John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." God has given us freedom from oppression, freedom from sin, freedom from death. He has given us Eternity. Therefore, we as a nation must fight to ensure that our children and grandchildren have something to look forward to in terms of freedom not only in this life but also in the next life. That is why it is so important for us to be able to stand before Almighty God and be able to say as in 2 Timothy Chapter 4, verse 7. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." We must keep alive the faith of our forefathers and make certain that their fight for our Christian based freedoms was not in vain.
