It was August 5, 2011 as I signed on to check my emails. Suddenly, my eyes fell on a story in which the lives of six (6) service members were saved by the use of a custom designed remote control truck. I was intrigued as a part of my ministry message is directed at our Armed Forces. One of the goals of the ministry of IJNHope is to serve as a perpetual reminder of the tragedy of 9/11 and serve as an ongoing message of “true Hope.”
As I read that story, I called Kevin Guy who had tailor made the truck for Christopher Fessenden at the request of his brother Ernie in 2007. His brother Ernie had sent it to him as a gift. I made the decision to help raise funds to purchase trucks for our Troops.
It turns out that Kevin has now set up an organization called “Trucks for Troops.” Since the economy is not doing well, I thought it would be great if people could even donate a small amount such as $10.00 and IJNHope would send them a 9/11 Memorial card as a keepsake, and $7.00 going towards the “Trucks for Troops” project to help save the lives of our Troops.
When I spoke to Kevin, he explained that each truck costs $500. I surmised that we could help them to continually raise funds for this awesome project which is like a ministry of saving lives of our Troops.
One of the biggest goals of IJNHope as a ministry is to encourage our Troops with spiritual help as well. In 2006 IJNHope sent nearly 5,000 9/11 Memorial cards enclosed in Salvation Army care packages at Christmas time. We have also sent several hundred posters and cards containing the message of “true Hope.” The message on the cards is: truly a 9/11 Memorial that is worth keeping and a message worth sharing. It is “Christian Patriotism at its Best.” This is a memorial that takes us to our Foundation, and connects to our Roots.

According to the CRS Report for Congress dated 9/25/2006. Beginning October 2001, there over 2,000 combat deaths in Iraq and 178 deaths in Afghanistan that were the result of IED’s (Improvished Explosive Devices) or roadside bombs. Often they are planted in the paths of unsuspecting Armed Forces as they patrol enemy territory. The enemy utilizes tactics such as hiding them in animal carcasses, roadside debris, behind signs and guardrails. Sometimes the enemy uses vehicles laden with explosives to maximize the number of casualties. Nearly half of the casualties in the War on Terrorism are the result of IED’s.
Our goal is to have “Hope with a Remote” as a continuing and ongoing project to help raise funds for a cause that truly brings “hope” to our Troops while sharing the message of Hope with our contributors as well. Please join us and donate today. Thank You and may God bless you and may God bless America.
